Proudly delivering cultural workshops for schools and community organisations.

About Our Workshops

Our Cook Islands cultural workshops are designed to give students a hands-on and engaging introduction to the traditions, music and movement of the Cook Islands.

Through interactive learning, students are invited to experience elements of Cook Islands culture, including traditional dance, rhythm, storytelling and the cultural significance behind the movements. Our workshops encourage participation, helping students build confidence while gaining a deeper understanding of Pacific cultures.

We created these workshops after recognising that many young people living abroad can feel disconnected from their cultural roots. By bringing authentic cultural experiences into schools, we aim to help students connect with culture, develop pride in identity, and foster respect and appreciation for diversity.
Each workshop is delivered in an engaging and inclusive way that encourages students of all backgrounds to participate, learn and celebrate culture together.
SHARING CULTURE. INSPIRING CONNECTION.

Cook Islands Ura Workshop
The outline below reflects a typical session, however all workshops can be customised to suit your school’s needs, including session length, number of participants, location and level of difficulty.

Our Cook Islands cultural workshops offer students an exciting and hands-on introduction to the music, movement and traditions of the Cook Islands. Led by experienced male and female tutors, students are guided through the foundations of traditional Cook Islands dance, learning key techniques, rhythm and the cultural meaning behind the movements.

Throughout the session, students take part in fun interactive drills before learning a short choreographed routine. The workshop concludes with a “showtime” moment where participants perform their routine back to their peers, creating a memorable and confidence-building experience.

Designed to be engaging, inclusive and educational, the workshop encourages students of all backgrounds and ability levels to participate while gaining a deeper appreciation for Cook Islands culture.
