Ura Dance Workshop

Description: The Cook Island Ura Workshop is a dynamic and engaging session where students get to experience the vibrant Polynesian culture through dance. Led by skilled male and female tutors, the workshop introduces students to the basics of traditional dance techniques. Students will learn a simple dance routine that they can perform back to their peers, staff, or audience. The Ura Workshop is not only an exciting physical activity but also an opportunity for cultural enrichment and appreciation.

Costume Workshop

The Cook Island Costume Workshop brings creativity and cultural appreciation together. In this workshop, students are divided into groups and are provided with materials and guidance to create their own Cook Island headpieces, traditionally worn during performances. While the students cannot keep the headpieces due to the cost of materials, they are encouraged to take pictures to cherish the memories of this fun and educational experience.

Drumming Workshop

Our team brings in authentic Cook Island drums and provides a fun and interactive session, teaching students about the instruments, their names, and how they are used in Polynesian culture. Students will have the opportunity to try their hand at playing the drums, learn basic rhythms, and immerse themselves in the vibrant sounds of the Pacific.
