Traditional Welcoming

Our traditional Cook Island welcoming is  intended to honour special guests and make them feel welcomed and valued. To start the event off, one of our warriors sounds the shell and performs a pe'e followed by our dancers bringing in the guest performing to an action song. By including these elements in a traditional Cook Island welcoming, the event can become very special and create a sense of warmth and intimacy between hosts and guests. A traditional welcoming can create a powerful and memorable experience. Sharing stories can also help guests learn about the culture and feel more connected to the place and the people.
